As a rule, this program presents the latest achievements of Russian cinema. This section always attracts many viewers, for recently Russian cinema has been developing rapidly, and many films of Russian directors become participants and winners of the most famous world film festivals.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In 1997 the new Russian cinema was first represented on IFF Molodist within the frames of the non-competition program “East-European panorama”. Then along with films by Hungarian, Bulgarian and Polish directors, the film “Brother” by Aleksey Balabanov was presented. In 1998 this program included the films “Of Freaks and Men” by Aleksei Balabanov and “Time of the Dancer” by Vadim Abdrashitov. In 2002 the program “New Russian Cinema” was first presented as a separate festival section.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Among films, presented within this non-competition program, were such famous movies as “Lover” by Valery Todorovsky (2002), which won the awards for best camera work and best scenery on the film festival in San-Sebastian, the work “My Stepbrother Frankenstein”, directed by Todorovsky (represented on the festival in 2004), which was shown in the competition program on “Kinotavr” and on the festival in Karlovy Vary; “The Goddess: How I Fell in Love”, the directorial debut of Renata Litvinova (2004); “Garpastum” by Aleksey German junior, represented in the competition program on the Venice film festival (2005); “Vocal Parallels” by Rustam Hamdamov, also presented at the Venice film festival (2005);
